Learn Production Thinking through Scouting

Students join the team on pre-production scouting in Malaysia, Indonesia and other locations, encountering different sites, routes and environmental conditions. Location choice is not simply about finding a beautiful image: it must also serve the story while accounting for access, scheduling, production feasibility and team execution. Some Indonesia itineraries run from early morning until late at night, and rest during travel reflects the real demands of regional movement, time coordination and energy management. These experiences show how a creative idea becomes an executable filming plan.

Explore Cross-border Development

Students from Singapore, including local citizens and residents, accompany the team on overseas pre-production trips and encounter film development, preparation and exchanges with relevant local organisations. The value goes beyond travel: students gain first-hand understanding of the communication, preparation, scheduling and cultural awareness involved in cross-border production, bringing that experience back into their learning and creative practice in Singapore. Regional exposure also broadens industry perspective and cross-border collaboration skills among local talent.
