Showcases the historical settings of Singapore and Malacca, exploring the struggles of women in early 20th-century Chinese diaspora society.
The film was primarily shot in Singapore, with key scenes set against preserved Peranakan houses and early 20th-century heritage buildings, authentically recreating the ambience of the Chinese diaspora community of that era. Complementary scenes were also filmed in Malacca’s historic landmarks and Peranakan residences, adding further depth and historical resonance. The overall art direction incorporates traditional homes, wedding customs, costumes, and rituals, bringing to life the cultural traditions and lived realities of the overseas Chinese.
A psychological thriller revealing that “the scariest thing at home is not ghosts, but unspoken violence.” It follows a woman trapped in domestic abuse, confronting fear, silence, and ultimately her journey of self-empowerment.
Director: Yeo Sze Liang

Cycles of domestic abuse and silence, women’s dignity and empowerment, and cinema as a medium for social education and dialogue.
Filmed partly in Singapore’s modern urban landscapes, blending cosmopolitan and local identities, and partly in Kukup fishing village in Malaysia, capturing the everyday atmosphere of overseas Chinese rural life. This contrast between city and village adds both social realism and cultural authenticity.
Singapore scenes feature authentic multilingual dialogue (English, Mandarin, dialects, Malay), while Kukup village scenes preserve the traditional speech patterns and rhythms of overseas Chinese rural life. This interplay of urban and rural languages highlights the tension between tradition and modernity.
A large-scale historical film project in development, combining traditional culture with contemporary reflections to explore the tension between humanity and history.
